Work Commute

If you're looking for a new job in Stratford don't limit yourself to jobs found only in the city. If you're willing to commute to work, either by car, bike, a Toronto taxi, or public transportation, then you'll have access to so many more job opportunities. You don't need to confine yourself only to jobs located in Stratford. No one really likes the word commute but it is a part of our everyday lives.

Commuting to work isn't the most ideal situation but in some instances it's the only option. If you're looking for a specific job in a chiropractor clinic for instance, the only available job might be at a chiropractor Toronto clinic. It's up to you to determine if you're up for the commute back and forth everyday. A two hour commute, each way, twice a day might seem like a lot but it might be the only way to advance your career. It's a sacrifice you'd have to be willing to make.

Sometimes there just aren't that many jobs to choose from with a city that has a population of just over 30,000 people. You have to remember that you're not the only one looking for a job after completing your real estate training. There are plenty of other people in the same boat as you.

Of course you don't have to apply for jobs only in the big city of Toronto. There are a whole bunch of nearby communities as well that you can look for jobs in. Some of the those nearby communities include Kitchener, St. Mary's, Woodstock, Milverton, and London. The driving commute between Stratford and each of those cities ranges from just over to 20 minutes to a little over 1 hour. Those commutes aren't all that bad. So, if you browse the classifieds section of the London Free Press and see a job posting for an executive recruiter position in London that you are interested in apply for it. There's no harm in that.

Try not to look at a work commute as a bad thing. Rather, look at it as a new adventure. Especially if you've spent your whole life in Stratford working with protein skimmers. Go out and see what other jobs are available out there. You might even find the commute enjoyable once you get used to it. It might be the only time of the day where you get some peace and quiet. Everyone needs some alone time every once in a while. Your work commute might just provide that. Good luck with the job search!
